Instructor - Hip Hop
Roxy Takaesu first started dancing hula with Kumu Hula Kauinohea at age four and her technique grew over the years with Kumu Hula Maelia Lobenstein-Carter. She was also apart of the Mini Movers at TMC shortly after starting hula. In high school she was promoted to the student director position of the Kamehameha Dance Company and returned to TMC in the ballet and hip-hop classes. In college she enrolled in the dance program and was also a member of the University of Hawaii Rainbow Dancers in 2011 to 2013. After this time, she participated in 24vii Danceforce as a company member and was given the opportunity to travel to Arizona for the American College Dance Festival in 2014. She graduated with her BFA in Dance Theater in 2015 from the University of Hawai’i at Mānoa and is currently assisting with the Kamehameha Dance Company.
