Chansri A. Green Artistic Director & Teacher Ballet, Mini Movers, Boys Movement Exploration and Mighty Movers, Encore Dance Project
Chansri A Green is a educator, choreographer, and performer who studied at the Joffrey Ballet School, the Harid Conservatory, and the Julliard School. She received her BFA in Dance with honors, with a concentration in education, from The Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago in 2003. In 2004, she relocated to Hawaii to further pursue her education and attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa on fellowship. In 2007, she completed her MFA in Dance with honors, with concentrations in education & performance/choreography. She has taught and choreographed dance at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Punahou Dance School, The Arc of Hawaii, Kapiolani Community College and The Movement Center, where she is currently the Artistic Director, Director of the Ballet Program, and Director and choreographer of Encore Dance Project, the mature dance company of The Movement Center.

Erin Love Teacher, Front Desk Ballet, Jazz, GEMS
Erin Love is an alumni of Mid-Pacific Institute School of the Arts program in Dance. She has also studied under the School of Honolulu Dance Theater and has performed in many of their productions. Ms. Love graduated from Whittier College with a BA in History, where she danced on the Whittier College Dance Team all four years and led as captain for three years.

Julie Okumura Teacher Show Director, Summer Camp
Julie attended and trained at the University of California, Irvine and has performed in many musical productions both in Hawaii and California. She has worked at The Movement Center for many years teaching and directing musical theater. She has also performed with Ohia Productions and toured many local schools with their Educational Road Shows. She currently runs a performing arts group at Calvary By the Sea Lutheran Church and sings weekly on a local dinner cruise line. She loves TMC because we not only teach our students how to dance, sing and act but we also work on creating good people. We have created a loving and caring environment which anyone, no matter what challenges they have, can enjoy learning about the performing arts.

Shinogu Sato Teacher Tumbling, Rhythmic Gymnastics
As a gymnast, Shinogu Sato was state junior champion and participated in the Japanese national competition until 1981. She graduated from a Tokyo women's junior college of physical education. After graduation she coached Gymnastics and Rhythmic Gymnastics in Japan. Now she enjoys teaching Tumbling and Rhythmic Gymnastics classes at TMC.

Jonathan Sypert Teacher Vocal Coach, Hip Hop, Tap, Movers & Shakers, Little Warriors, and Performing Arts Experience
Mr. Jonathan was voted 2009 Best Adult Hip Hop Teacher in Honolulu by the readers of Honolulu Magazine!
Jonathan Clarke Sypert is a professional performing artist as well as instructor here at The Movement Center. He has acted on Hawaii Five-0; sings with Henry Kapono and the Hot Club of Hulaville; dances with Tau Dance Theatre, The Rhythm Renegades and HI-Frequency; produces and performs Hip Hop music with and for various local acts; features as a Slam Poet for meaningful community events; contracts artistically with the City and County of Honolulu for the Department of Environmental Services, Refuse Division; and is the Founder and Head Facilitator of the community outreach program Forward Motion. Jonathan is grateful for the blessing of being introduced to the performing arts by his mother Shirley Sypert, a noted Broadway star from the '70s; and to have been fortunate enough to make his living for over 20 years where he was raised, right here in Hawai'i.

Carolyn Wilt Teacher Ballet, GEMS
Miss Carolyn started her ballet training at Londonderry Dance Academy when she was five years old. She studied the Royal Academy of Dance syllabus for twelve years, passing her first ballet exam when she was six and passing the Advanced I and II levels by the time she was eighteen. She participated several times in the American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards, and earned a gold medal with distinction in Level 12. She performed corps de ballet and soloist roles in New England Dance Ensemble’s original productions, including the company’s annual Nutcracker. Her love of dance has brought her to summer intensives in England and the Czech Republic, as well as workshops in New York City and the American College Dance Festival in California. After moving to Hawaii in 2005, Miss Carolyn has enjoyed performing with the University of Hawaii, Honolulu Dance Theater, Hawaii Ballet Theater, and the Onium Ballet Project. In December, 2010, she will graduate from the University of Hawaii with a BFA in Dance Theater and a BBA in Marketing.

Nicole Young Guest Teacher, Dance Team Director Motion Commotion
Nicole Young is an aerialist and instructor for Samadhi Hawai'i. She has lent her performing talents to Iona Contemporary Dance Theater, Upside-Down Dance, Tau Dance Theater, Hawai'i Opera Theater, and Derek Daniels Productions. Nicole holds a BFA in Dance and a BA in Psychology from the University of Hawai'i and is currently working on her Pilates certification as an apprentice teacher at Upside-Down Pilates. She has taught at The Movement Center, and Mid-Pacific Institute, Allegra Performing Arts Center, The Pacific School of the Performing Arts, Tri-School at Mililani, The Honolulu Boys Choir, and has been a guest instructor for Dance Central.

Lisa Kimsey Our Founder
Lisa Kimsey, the founder of The Movement Center, studied dance in the islands as a child and taught in Los Angeles and Wisconsin prior to returning home to Hawaii where she has performed with the Dances We Dance Company and Diamond Head Theatre. She completed Dance Educator's of America three year teacher training program and the Hawaii Community Foundation’s PONO program for Executive Directors.
