Thank you for your interest in performing arts classes at The Movement Center. We have created a loving, safe atmosphere where you or your child can learn valuable skills. In a controlled learning environment we stress creativity and self expression, courtesy and cooperation.
While performing arts classes enhance a child’s gross and fine motor skills and develop strength, flexibility, poise and confidence, at TMC our primary goal is to teach life skills such as creative problem solving and a disciplined work ethic.
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization the TMC has established an outreach program for disadvantaged and physically challenged youth who otherwise may not be able to experience a performing arts education.
Scientific research has proven that early education in the arts helps brain and motor skill development. Social studies have shown that teens are in desperate need of quality after school activities that teach life skills. TMC endeavors to offer the highest caliber, disciplined instruction available to these communities. In addition, a variety of classes in fitness, dance and music are offered for adults, seniors, keiki and toddlers.
TMC currently serves over 500 students in 90 different classes. Students range from toddlers through adults. Numerous children with special needs are enrolled in our classes and from time to time classes are offered to meet specific special needs.
If you are new to The Movement Center – welcome to our family. We hope you will enjoy your adventure into the performing arts and that participating in the arts – as a performer, student, teacher or patron – will become a life-long passion for you and your family, too!
