Musical Theater Musical Theater classes explore a theatrical genre which utilizes popular stylized songs and dances that tell a story or showcase the talents of performers. This class is an opportunity to expose children to Musical Theater. Students will learn songs and dances from current and/or classic musicals from various Broadway shows. Through singing exercises, simple dance movement for musical theater and an introduction to acting; with an emphasis on dance and vocal skills, students will learn basics of pronunciation, projection and breath control as well as footwork, jumps, turns, floor patterns and character presentation used in theatrical stage choreography.
Song And Dance One of our most popular keiki classes! This class is an excellent introduction to Musical Theater for young children. Our singing and dancing students will learn beginning dance choreography to popular Disney songs and musicals as well as teach young performers beginning vocal skills. Each fun and energized class will devote equal time to singing and dancing.
Vocal Performance Vocal Production class includes all aspects of singing such as; vocal technique, expression, interpretation, performance, improvisation, phrasing, intonation, swing, awareness and training of one’s own authority, singing with recorded music, singing with a choir and/or ensemble, working with other theatrical performers. While every fun and energized class aims at optimizing the student’s technical and artistic vocal level, the students will also be encouraged to develop performance skills, self confidence, stage presence, voice projection, and public speaking skills.
Performing Arts Experience One of our most popular classes! A fun and creative exploration into the musical show experience combining singing, dancing, and acting. During each session the students will use exercises in creative drama to create their own original musical production. Through class collaboration and participation the students will develop characters, plots, scripts, songs, and dances for the production. The students will perform their original creation during the last class. Please plan to attend every class!
